Nick Faure is the most famous driver of Porsche in the UK of his era.
Known affectionately as "Mr.Porsche" he achieved his fame racing and selling Porsche 911 and 356s since the sixties and his name became synonymous with the marque.
In 1967 and 1968 he raced the ex works 911, that Vic Elford had raced for Porsche GB, in the British Touring Car Championship with the support of Porsche Cars GB, and in 1973 Porsche invited him to drive the brand new Carrera RS 2.7 lightweight in the Production Sports Car Championship, then moving on to the Carrera 3.0 RS Lightweight of 1974 still under the banner of Porsche Cars GB.
In 1974 he was also invited to drive the Carrera 3.0 RSR for Ecurie Belge at Brands Hatch which led him to his first of 11 appearances at the Le Mans 24 hours Endurance Race. The now famous Harley-Davidson Porsche 3.0 RSR he helped steer to 6th overall at his first attempt in 1975.
Since then his association with the marque has been famous from his experience driving so many types of competition Porsche in races and rallies. For more than 30 years he ran his own Porsche Specialist outlet in Surrey UK selling all things 911 and 356. Nick's reputation for driving these Porsche 911s to the limit and beyond is legendary, in particular his “hands off” technique of controlling the car in opposite-lock cornering attitude allowing the car to show off its own self centering abilities.
